Behind the Scenes: What I Accomplished at Chess Learning Academy
in my previous post i discuss about web dev small project now lets continue what behind the scene what i accomplished within.
chesslearnigacadey lets call it CLA, within CLA, i start to have explore Google Suites, mainly within Google Sheets and Appscript and automation make/n8n.
With those tools i single handle the data flow of google sheets and ye im fucked,
Well first i just automate things that they do like data flow from sheet#1 to sheet#2 so they dont need to copy paste manually, then so on and so forth i just handle other things like cancellation of class from google sheet dropdown automatically cancel class to cal.com
then with that i connect other classesSheet#1 and salesSheet#1 and a tool for automatically layout dates of client needed etc.
with that i single-handedly fight against monsters within google sheets data,
but theres a thing i forgot and wont forget,
When we are designing database we need primary id/ unique id, so that we can handle data from other table and manipulate data based on needed.
And thats what i fkin forget
With handling data within spreadsheet theres a one big problem, when your data is not finalize yet and its because you are in startup company and needed to tweaks data almost every week, i as overall Tech handling everything needed to update based on new data, example u add new column between data therefore the code needed to adjust YES NEEDED TO ADJUST, just because its hard to get dynamically the specific column data for it, i already researched thru api, all knowledgable AI damn i dont get a single thing how to handle it, with that i come up with a new data, which is automation then ......... when i just think about it its not worth it............................................................ fk it
because every automation make.com/n8n, you need to pay per operation executed, therefore its not worth it to create something like that then theres a existing tool that solves everything, AIRTABLE like man okay thats why how Airtable get some clients because of this sheets hell/excel, two way sync, and others. man im tired i just want to be happy. but overall i learned but in a hell way.
Yea its fun to learn but when theres obstacle in front of me i need to break it like damn but theres airtable that solves every problem i encounter.
With that airtable price varies per user, and we as a start up company we cant handle that ridiculous pricing 😄 now i just need to move on and do what i need to do in current situation, fun right, go and learn tech
